Lady Gaga Lipstick Is Unique And Bold

Lady Gaga’s lipstick has taken the fashion world by storm.

The cosmetics company MAC is brilliant when it comes to creating innovative products and intense colors that catch the consumer’s eye. But nothing is more genius then providing top notch lipstick collaboration with Lady Gaga.

When MAC unveiled the exciting new shade inspired by Lady Gaga known as MAC Viva Glam and vowed to donate every cent from each sale towards their MAC Aids Fund, fashionista’s around the world went crazy to get their hands on this lovely little lipstick bullet of color.

Since I live in a small city without mega shopping malls I had to resort to ordering my Lady Gaga lipstick online. When the postman arrived bearing my package I almost hugged him in anticipation.

Black Lipstick Is Not New Today

Wearing black lipstick used to be taboo. However, most forward thinking trends actually still fall under the category of the old saying “there is nothing new under the sun”. This also can be said about the trend of black lipstick which has gained popularity spanning centuries.

In many cultures such as in the Hindu tradition both women and men use the leaf of an Asian evergreen climbing plant called betel. It stains both teeth and lips resulting in a dark color. The Maori of New Zealand tattoo and paint their lips black which is perfectly acceptable in their culture.

Queen Elizabeth I was even thought of as being fashion forward with her tendency for translucent skin and extremely dark almost black lips.

Before color film was technologically advanced film stars would wear black lipstick in order to accentuate and draw attention their lips. Subsequently, shop girls and housewives began clamoring for deep, dark rich lipsticks.

Purple Lipstick Not Just For Barney Anymore

Purple lipstick is fast becoming a fall trend.  With so many beauty influences bombarding us from the covers of magazines, starlets on the red carpet and runway models dishing up the latest trends in fashion and makeup it is no wonder that recently I have started to rethink my decision to not fall under the influence of purple lipstick.

I’ve been around the block for a few years and shudder to remember how in vogue purple was in the 90’s. I swore that I never would become a victim to that unflattering look again especially with the increasing popularity of the children’s character Barney.

The fashion addict that I am could not be silenced though as I started to consider the current formulations and alluring shades of purple lipstick being offered by many top notch cosmetic houses.

Mood Lipstick The Chemistry Mystery Solved

Remember being a little girl and being fascinated with the concept of mood rings?  I think we all had one and used them as an easy to deal with our adolescent anxieties.

I for one used to make up what the different colors meant depending on the occasion since the little instruction booklet it came with was lost under other scraps of paper and the latest teen magazine. Mood lipstick brings back that clear fantasy.

I was honestly surprised to read that mood lipsticks have come into fashion not only for adolescents but for the more mature woman as well. The formulas have been reformatted with higher quality lipstick ingredients and are designed to work as hard as traditional brands.

There are even more choices on the market with specific color ranges for the woman who has steered clear of too much saturation these are perfect.

Green Lipstick Not Just For Easter

Once upon a time it was thought that only good girls wore clear nail polish and questionable ones wore green lipstick. No one would even think of wearing scarlet red nail polish or red lipstick on a job interview.

Times certainly have changed and who has not been waited on by a restaurant server with tattoos and piercings doing a competent job serving you up breakfast, lunch or dinner.

These examples may seem a bit extreme but when you contemplate swank artist like Lady Gaga or Nicki Manaj sporting neon makeup with hair and clothes to match you probably would not even bat a critical eyelash as you apply your own green lipstick.

In the Middle East women have been wearing this amazing long lasting lipstick for years and in their culture it is not just a trend.

Covergirl Lipstick For The Cosmetics Connoisseur

The American cosmetics brand Covergirl was originally established in 1960 by the company Noxzema Chemical Company which later changed its name to Noxell. It was acquired by the consumers goods company Procter & Gamble in 1989.

This brand was advertised to appeal to ordinary girls to allow them the experience of mimicking real cover girl models on the magazines.

Typically found in drugstores this cosmetic is affordable for anyone. Its innovative campaigns keep up with the latest fads as well as competitors’ tried and true selections.

Even though Covergirl lipstick is not generally thought of as a luxury line it rates overwhelming high as a product that consistently delivers in terms of moisture and sleek packaging.

When I put this brand to test I found it to be extremely moisturizing and the range of colors exceeded my expectations.  Not only that but often drugstores offer buy one get one free coupons which makes this cosmetic even more attractive.

Pink Friday Lipstick Is Not Just For Barbie’s

This particular lipstick was a limited edition shade from the well-known cosmetics company Makeup Artist Canada whose moniker is MAC. They are on the fore-front when it comes to new and innovative products.

The collaboration between MAC and the hip hop artist musician Nicki Manaj occurred in November 2010 to a debut unprecedented. It sold out almost immediately.

However, some tubes of the eponymous Pink Friday can still be found via Internet web search’s but they will come at a premium price if you must have it.

The lipstick shade is described as a “bright creamy pink lipstick,” with a semi-matte non shiny finish.  It is opaque on the lips meaning that it is non-transparent which makes for a strong dose of saturated color.

Red Lipstick Is A Unique Experience

Recently I celebrated a monumental birthday and joined the ranks of women that have successfully bridged the gap from the pedestrian pleasures of lip gloss to a more seasoned and accomplished woman who enjoys the allure that only a red lipstick can give you.

To be honest I’d always known the power of a red lipstick but had not ventured out of my comfort zone of drugstore reds and sheer glosses that merely hinted at red. So I became obsessed with finding the perfect red lipstick and so became my almost month long journey over to the dark side!

With a plethora of choices I started out with the brand and shade most recommended by every stylish girl I knew and that was Russian Red by MAC. This deep dark red matte shade is almost universally flattering to every skin tone and it is extremely long lasting and quite reasonably priced as MAC is considered a very affordable brand.

Wear Blue Lipstick With Confidence and Chic

Blue lipstick?

In recent years the cosmetics companies have created bold new colors of super saturated almost neon shades. The superstars in the music and fashion world have set up and taken notice. Now the envelope on what is wearable is pushing certain trends main stream.

To be sure there was a time when even the color red was considered too much to wear on both lips and nails however times have changed and acceptance of brighter colors is now the norm.

In 2010 we started to see makeup trends of brightly hued pigments with blue lipstick becoming very trendy and being splashed across editorial pages and on the lips of prominent style mavens.

We are not talking about a robin’s egg blue or sweet powder blue but an intense bubblegum blue. If you can imagine for a minute, call it the kissing cousin to the shade bubblegum pink.

Best Red Lipstick On The Market Is Not What You’d Expect It to Be

I am no stranger when it comes to wearing red lipstick yet I am still searching for the best red lipstick available…and the more matte the better. However on my 30th birthday I woke up with the conviction that it was time to venture out from my drugstore reds and invest in a real honest to goodness modern day woman red.

Consequently, I started my journey to find the holy grail of red lipstick. My first purchase was the iconic favorite of the indomitable Ms. Dita Von Teese.

I found that she has her very own tweet site where she raved about the virtues of the makeup artist Canada (that’s MAC for those in the know) blue based red shade Ruby Woo. This matte yet rich bold formula wears like iron and is guaranteed to keep your lips looking kissable for hours. I thought this has got to be the best red lipstick out there.

Lipstick Ingredients Are Proprietary Brands

Lipstick ingredients vary from brand to brand in as much as the variety of colours available.  Basically, they all contain a common set of ingredients. With the exception of organic or natural lipstick, manufactures whose technology changes as often as new ways are to enhance lipsticks to make them acceptable to the green consumer.

What follows are some of the typical lipstick ingredients.

  1. 60% of the total weight of your lipstick bullet consists of oils running the gamut from lanolin to mineral, castor and vegetable oils.  Adding oils is what gives the lip color shine.
  2.  Alcohol which is used as a solvent helps loosen up the oils and wax.
  3. Beeswax and candelilla wax helps to shape the lipstick into its usual bullet form.  Carnuba wax from the leaves of the Brazilian wax palm tree is a more expensive type wax also used.
